Welcome to tedlocascio.com, where you can find the latest news and information about all of my books, training videos, and appearances. My latest book for Sybex publishers is titled Mastering Photoshop CS3 for Print Design and Production. Being a Photoshop user since the early 90's, I can remember a time when every Photoshop book was for print designers (sigh). Now, with the advances made in digital photography and web/multimedia, it’s hard to even find one that was written specifically for you—the print designer.
That’s where Mastering Photoshop CS3 for Print Design and Production comes into play. Photoshop CS3 contains a multitude of new features that can greatly enhance your print production workflow. Throughout the chapters, I show you how you can:
• Add and enhance color to bring your print images to life
• Enhance the tonality and detail of your print images with Curves
• Edit RAW files, TIFFs, and JPEGs with Camera Raw
• and much, much more!
I've also released several new graphics training videos available at lynda.com, including:
• Bridge and Version Cue CS3 Essential Training
• Font Management
• Illustrator CS2 Creative Techniques
• Getting Started with Expression Design
I'll be presenting the following sessions at the upcoming Mogo-Media Conference in Miami, to be held February 26 - March 1, 2008:
Cool Illustrator Text Effects - With Illustrator, you can create amazing text effects, but it’s not always obvious how to achieve greatness. Come have fun as we explore the ins and outs of text effects.
InDesign Type Tricks - Text is at the heart of most of what we produce in InDesign. Learn some of the coolest tricks for making your text really pop.
Lay It Out with Illustrator - While most people think of InDesign as the layout king, Illustrator is an awesome tool for one page items such as advertisements, book and magazine covers, posters, and so on. Learn how best to use this tool and why you might want to use it instead of (or in conjunction with) InDesign.
Bridge for Photoshop Users - In this session you'll learn how to apply the the new Bridge CS3 and Camera Raw 4 features in a print design/production workflow. I'll show you how to adjust TIFF and JPEG images with Camera Raw through Bridge, before you even launch Photoshop.
Working with Vectors in a Pixel Environment- Paths will be paths, and pixels will be pixels, and never the twain shall meet. But in this in depth exposé, we pry into the hidden secrets of vectors and bitmaps.
All of my books and videos are available at amazon.com and various other retail booksellers. My video training titles are also available for purchase on CD-ROM or through the online training library at lynda.com. |
